From Erika: “I have worked on this project while living in Germany and then it made the move to the United States with me. I have worked on it in 4 different states (California, Illinois, Arizona and Colorado). I didn't have any specific pattern in mind when I started and even at the end there was no pattern in mind. I felt that COVID doesn't seem to have a pattern to who it affects and when. On certain days I decided to do something with a meaning. On Valentine's day I decided to stitch hearts. On Pi day, I made a couple Pi symbols. On St Patrick's day I made a four leaf clover. I mostly enjoyed making the diagonal stripes and the checkered pattern.”
