I have enjoyed being a part of a collaborative art project. Participating in this project was a way for me to reflect on, process, and grow from all the ways Covid has changed me and the world around me. When I first started the block, stitching helped pass the time while things were closed for Covid. As time went on, things reopened and my stitching slowed. As I slowly continued on with the project, every stitch was a reminder that while it may seem like Covid is over, the impact it has had on so many cannot be as easily forgotten. Whether we lost loved ones or just endured Covid and quartanites, the pandemic changed us all. I used the time stitching my block to listen to The Bible on the YouVersion App. I made it through more than once. Stitching this Bible verse helped remind me that even in stressful, dark, lonely times like the Covid pandemic, I can still find strength and joy when I remember my hope is in God. I finished my stitching with the interlocking hearts. I chose to do these because we are all connected in so many ways and the world is a much better place when we all show each other love and grace.
